10/24/2019 Beautiful stay at Camp David!
We had the very best stay! We celebrated my 40 th birthday at camp David for the weekend. There were 11 of us total and were very comfortable in the gorgeous house. The house was immaculately clean with nothing unaccounted for as far as amenities and thoughtful touches. Super kid friendly, we had a 4 and 2 year old staying with our group. They were excited to play with the toys inside and out. The grounds are gorgeous, surrounded by tall trees, I thoroughly enjoyed gazing at them through the skylights of our bedroom. The house is conveniently located close to town and other sights to see. Our family is considering staying there in the future because we all loved it so very much.

House was perfect for our group of 10. Loved that it was 2 miles from downtown Bolton's Landing. Enjoyed the fire pit several nights. The house had more than enough room for all of us. Would certainly stay here again.

My family and I had a great time at Camp David. The place was very well stocked with activities for the kids and all the comforts of home! We loved the wrap around deck and comfortable living room. The iPad sign in was a nice bonus! We will definitely consider coming back!

08/03/2019 Camp David Review
this property is well cared for and has many personal touches by the owners that made it feel like we were visiting friends. The yard, fire pit, playscape and the wrap around deck were some of our favorites. There were toys for the kids outside and games and more toys inside. The owners left the fire pit ready to go complete with marshmallow sticks and supplies for stores. Thank you to David and Maria!

07/15/2019 As advertised.
Camp David in Bolton Landing comes as advertised. This was our first stay in upstate NY and all our four kids loved it. We had a hiccup with checking in but Dave resolved our issue and went above to make us feel comfortable during our stay. I personally loved the cleanliness of the house - did not come across a single dusty surface.

Mon, Jun 27, 2016 Wonderful house for children and the whole family!
We had a wonderful stay at the beautiful and huge Camp David vacation retreat. We travelled with 3 young kids under the age of 5 years, and they were delighted with the sandpit and bunk beds in their room. There were also many toys, books and board games for them as well as a Wii, so they enjoyed playing together. The house is beautifully kept with a lovely kitchen. Sipping our morning coffee while sitting on the porch, was peaceful and relaxing. We loved the decor, which was beautiful and fit very well with the surroundings. The kids enjoyed counting all the 'bears' (themed decorations) throughout the house. The location in Bolton Landing worked well for our family. We went to Veteran's Memorial Beach and Park every morning with a couple of trips to Lake George Village. The grocery store, deli, icecream shop and restaurants at Bolton Landing were charming and more than adequate for our needs. Interaction with Maria and David was prompt and professional. The kids, especially enjoyed the welcome gift of chocolates when we arrived at the house. We look forward to coming here again next year! The house is really as beautiful and lovely as the pictures and reviews describe.

Fri, Nov 6, 2015 Excellent time at Camp David
My parents, sister, brother-in-law, husband and I spent an AWESOME weekend at Camp David. It was absolutely gorgeous, more than big enough for the six of us, and accommodated lots of group-cooked meals with ease. The arrangements with the owners were clear and easy: they made every aspect of our stay as private and straightforward as possible. My only caveat is just a recommendation for others unfamiliar with the Lake George seasons: be warned that by the end of October, a HUGE percentage of the local businesses, services, etc. are closed for the season. We had low key plans in general, so this was not a major problem, but I was unprepared to find it so difficult to plan outings in early November. But that actually didn't turn out to be a problem, in no small part because we had such an incredibly lovely, comfortable and convenient home base. The wrap-around porch, the fully equipped kitchen, the radiant heat, the fire place and outdoor fire pit, the quiet setting, the lovely and comfortable furniture and ample bedrooms, the fact that our two small family dogs were accommodated with ease: all of this made Camp David a perfect weekend home. Many thanks to our hosts!

Fri, Oct 9, 2015 Wonderful time at Camp David
Our family ranging in age from 8 months to 97 years gathered at Camp David for a wonderful weekend. The ease and facilities at Camp David, from the well supplied kitchen and the comfortable furniture, to the fabulous kids outdoor play area right in the yard, all contributed to making this a special, memorable, easy to manage reunion. All of my dealings with Maria were easy and efficient. I have rented several places in the past, both here and in Europe and this is by far...the absolute best! I hope we will be able to gather everyone again to make this a family custom.

Sat, Jul 18, 2015 Our Incredible stay at Camp David, amazing family!
Maria & David, I am sorry I am only getting around to writing to you now as we have been working diligently on remodeling projects in our home. We wanted to sincerely thank you for our wonderful stay at your beautiful Camp David home. It was more than we could have hoped it to be! All of the wonderful welcoming touches were so very much appreciated. So many memories were forged and the children will take these memories forward with them - family football on the lawn; guitar, singing, s'mores around the fire pit; gourmet brunch (each cooked a dish in your beautiful kitchen!); rainy night board game chips and dip night; speed boat/ tubing & fishing on the lake; Waterslide World; Great Escape; movie night.... The kids took to naming each of our days for our favorite part of our day. We chose to barbecue and eat in most nights and would go around the table and ask each person their favorite time thus far of our stay.... There was always a slight debate, as there were so many moments to speak of! I enjoyed the quiet of shopping in the quaint stores in town and even made a friend of the owners in one of the shops. Our photo album is full of fantastic memories and we are so grateful to you both. We hope to make Camp David an annual stay as we are able. A million "thank yous" to you!!!! Sincerely, Dorrie Tomlins

Thu, Jun 25, 2015 Perfect home for a Lake George adventure weekend!
I can't say enough about this property! The home is even better than described on the site. First of all, it was spotless. The kitchen is huge and fully equipped, with better appliances and supplies than I have at my house. There is plenty of room for a group of 9+; the dining room, living room and deck could all fit all of us comfortably! The decor of the house is beautiful and just what you'd expect from an Adirondacks home. The beds were all comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. The master bedroom and bath are luxurious (so nice we had to share our shower many times!) The house is located about two minutes from the adorable town of Bolton Landing - close to restaurants, shops and all kinds of rental docks for the lake, and just a bit further from the town of Lake George. From this home, we had a weekend of adventure: Horseback riding, hiking in the High Peaks of the Adirondacks (just under 1 hour of gorgeous driving away), a day on the lake in a pontoon boat rented right from Bolton Landing, and finished off with Adirondacks Extreme Adventure course - just 4 miles from this home! Making the reservation was a piece of cake (we were so lucky it wasn't booked!). We were welcomed with a hand-written note on the counter and 2 delicious chocolate bars. There was a binder of nice places to eat and fun things to do that we took full advantage of. The owners sent us everything we needed and our stay was flawless. From our experience, they are wonderful people to rent from and take immense pride in maintaining a beautiful and welcoming vacation home. I cannot recommend this place enough and hope that I can visit again =)

Fri, May 22, 2015 Stunning, spacious, superb
We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. The house was beautiful, to say the least. My expectations were exceeded in every way. The house looked brand new, very well kept and exceptionally stocked with everything we needed and then some. We were a mix of children and adults and EVERYONE had a ball! From the sand pit and playground to the little pond (with frogs!) in the front of the house, the kids never ran out of things to do, giving us adults a little breathing room. We burned a fire at night and enjoyed coffee on the big porch in the morning. In my opinion, it's just the right distance (10 mi) away from Lake George Village and the drive down 9W was lovely. The town of Bolton Landing is so cute and there was much to do there as well. Cute little restaurants and a few little shops to explore. Maria was lovely to work with, and even gave us a list of events happening while we were in town and left plenty of literature about the touristy things we might be interested in. Not only will I recommend this property to anyone heading to the Lake George area, but I hope to stay again with my own family real soon!

Fri, Dec 26, 2014 Unforgettable!!!!!!
If you are looking for a beautiful, clean spacious place to stay with your family, THIS IS THE PLACE! Everything was handled with professionalism and ALL information mentioned in the listing is 100% accurate. More than enough bedding, more than enough cooking equipment, more than enough firewood. Everything you could possibly need was there waiting for us. Even though the Lake George area is probably geared more for summer activities, there is still plenty to do in the winter. We went snow tubing and horseback riding in the woods. It was all beautiful, but our best time was just relaxing in the home near the wood burning stove playing Pictionary, eating good food and just enjoying each other's company as a FAMILY. It was a much needed escape and a much needed FAMILY gathering. WE WILL BE COMING BACK!!! Thank you so much Maria & David for sharing your beautiful home with us and for being so accommodating and thoughtful!!

Sat, Jun 21, 2014 A Week in June Stay at Camp David Lake George
The property and home were wonderful. The home was clean and waiting for us. The home was spatial for the 7 of us. All of our meals were prepared and most eaten at Camp David. Kitchen is will equipped and we used the washer and dryer several times. Our 4 and 6 year old grandchildren enjoyed the sandbox and outdoor play equipment. The child gate at the bottom of the stairs and the high chair made life much easier in keeping our 1 year old grandchild safe. We had campfires at night and rented a pontoon boat with driver which we would recommend. David and Maria were helpful in guiding us through the process of rental contract, clarifying amenities and prompt with the return of deposit. I would recommend a stay at Camp David.

Sat, Aug 17, 2013 Home away from home-
from the moment we arrived we had a welcoming treat. It was clean, well maintained and accurately described home away from home. I cooked everyday and night because their house felt like my home. The kids loved the backyard, we had enough space for 3 families to eat and hang. We really had to bring nothing but ourselves. They even had an extra roll of tinfoil - such a wonderful place we can't wait to go back!

Sat, Jul 13, 2013 A wonderful week with our entire family!
We stayed at Camp David from July 13-20, 2013, a record warm week for NY, but a wonderful week nonetheless. Camp David is exactly how the owners have described it on their website. The home is situated on a private lot, you share a small turnoff with the neighbors, that we never saw while we were there. The home is very large and accommodated our family of 11 (6 adults and 5 children) extremely well. We made all meals at the home, the kitchen is large enough that 6 adults can easily cook a meal together, which was very nice. The island has additional seating as well. The home was in great condition and the appliances were very nice (large washer and dryer), kitchen was well stocked with utensils and creature comforts. The owners were extremely attentive it a minor problem we have with the AC unit, even driving up late on a Sunday night to make the repair!! You can tell the owners take great care of their home. The children loved having a TV at night to watch movies. There is a Blu-ray player and if you have a Netflix account you can stream movies through the tv, which was really nice (we had 5 kiddos under 8). The beaches are about 1.5 mile drive. We went to Veterans Park for their free swim lessons (every morning in summer) and free arts and crafts. We also went down to the beach there in the evening (free parking after 5pm, but no swimming), it was very peaceful. We did rent a pontoon boat from Chic's Mariana. $300 for 3 hours or $450 for entire day, plus gas. This was a must do for anyone staying in Camp David....what a great day on the lake. We also went on the Minnehaha one evening for sunset cruise, so much fun! We also did the floating Classroom in Lake George, what a wonderful experience, every Wednesday in the summer in Lake George. It's $15 for adults and $9 for kiddos, we learned so much about the Lake and conducted 4 experiments. There are great stores in Bolton Landing and fun ice cream shops, the locals told us to go to Fred's and it was lovely. The toy store is wonderful. Make sure you plan some time to go the Pottersville Caves at exit 26, an awesome 2 hour adventure. An hour hike (quite rigorous, but beautiful) and then mining for gems afterwards! We grew up in Upstate NY and never knew that these existed.

We found Camp David to be the perfect gathering place for our family for an extended weekend stay. The house is large and spacious. It easily accommodated 6 adults and 4 grandchildren. All of the bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were spotless. Kitchen was modern and very well equipped. The large, open living are was a real hit with the grandkids. It had a very large flat screen TV for watching shows, sports events and for playing games on Wi. The other hit with the kids was the play house and swing set in the backyard. Overall, our visit fulfilled all of our expectations. We would definitely consider returning to Camp David for a future vacation.

Fri, Jan 18, 2013 GREAT stay! Would recommend and stay again!
A group of ten stayed comfortably for a long weekend and agreed that we would want to come back annually. The owners were incredibly helpful and clear, making the rental process simple. The home was cozy, warm, and perfect for a weekend of cooking, games, and friends. The pictures show the home accurately but it is somehow even cuter in person. The area is very quiet in the winter and so all meals were made and enjoyed in the home and it never felt cramped. I give my strong recommendation for this rental.

Sat, Jul 21, 2012 Wonderful house, great region
We spent 2 weeks at Camp David in July/August. We were 12, including 3 children, and the house worked perfectly well for all of us. The house was clean and very welcoming when we arrived. Everything was as mentioned on the description or better. The living room area is a great place to share time together : there are toys for the children, a great reading place near the glass doors and a TV with wii games. The house is very bright, because there are glass doors and windows everywhere. The playground for the children outside is also very enjoyable. The BBQ is great, there is a table to eat outside and cozy furniture to relax on a sunny day. The deck and the trees all around are just... wow! It was our first time in the Lake George area and we loved everything about it. Staying at Bolton Landing (rather than in the town of Lake George) was a great decision : the supermarket is great (much better choice of vegetables and meat as in Lake George), the restaurants are good, the people are all very nice and welcoming and the shops have high quality stuff (souvenirs, clothes and a kid store). We enjoyed Veteran's Memorial Park Beach so much that we went there every day (they have free swimming lessons for kids during the summer). We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of hours (prices vary significantly from one boat rental to another) which was a great experience. We also visited the town of Lake George (which is also nice because you can walk around a part of the lake). We also hiked (Prospect Mountain is totally fine with children, our 4-year old daughter made it... with a bit of enticement! It's a great hike because you can park either all the way down or at 3 different parkings along the way, so you can decide how much you want to walk. And the view is nice.) We really recommend the house (and the area) and we would definitely come again.
